Young Harris College Joins SAGE Tuition RewardsYoung Harris College, one of the South’s most affordable and fastest-growing schools, has joined the SAGE Tuition Rewards program, which now includes 13 participating Georgia private colleges. The school is named for benefactor Young L.G. Harris.

Located on a scenic, 800-acre campus in the Appalachian Mountains of Northeast Georgia, YHC is a 2-hour drive from Asheville, Atlanta and Chattanooga. YHC integrates the liberal arts and professional studies so that students develop skills prized by future employers. Founded in 1886, YHC once specialized in associate (two-year) degrees; it has thrived since becoming an accredited bachelor’s degree-granting college in 2008.

More than 1,400 students are enrolled in YHC’s residential and Early College programs. The typical class size is 18, enabling students to receive personal attention and guidance. YHC offers 29 majors and 22 minors; popular majors include biology, business, communications, psychology and visual and performing arts.

YHC offers more than 60 student organization. The Mountain Lions compete in 12 NCAA Division II varsity sports. The alumni, which include a former U.S. Senator, two state governors, a number of congressmen and state legislators, are known for their loyalty. YHC is the 47th United Methodist-affiliated college to participate in the SAGE private college consortium.
