Founded in 1946 in Central New York state as an affiliate of Syracuse University, Utica has grown into an independent, vibrant, comprehensive college offering more than 70 academic programs, adding new majors in fast-growing fields such as cybersecurity, construction management and health studies.

Offering the advantages of a large university with the intimacy and personal attention associated with smaller private colleges, Utica enrolls 2,528 diverse undergraduate students. A recent tuition "reset" has driven the list price to an affordable $20,127. Applicants who live more than five hours' driving distance from Utica can book a flight into Syracuse (about an hour from campus) or Albany (90 minutes away) and be reimbursed for half the ticket price (up to a total of $150). Those who enroll are eligible for reimbursement of the remainder of the ticket price (up to $300).

UC ranks in the top third nationally for graduates who exceed their expected earning potential, according to The Economist. 92 percent of UC grads are employed or in graduate school within one year of graduation.
