Member College Profile
Founded in 1873 as a coeducational institution, Bennett was reorganized in 1926 to become a College for Women. Bennett College is a small, residential, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The average student enrollment at Bennett is 600 women, the majority of whom are of African American descent. These women bring with them the cultures of 29 states, including North Carolina, and 11 foreign countries, representing the continents of Africa, Asia, and Europe.
